Sherri Latimer has been married to Dr. Frank Latimer, an art history teacher at Pulaski Technical College, since 1991. Born in California she completed her undergraduate work there and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio to attend the University of Cincinnati. There she earned a Masters degree and Ph.D. in the field of classical history. Sherri obtained a position as a college professor at the College of Eastern Utah where she taught history and philosophy. After moving to Little Rock, Arkansas she taught history at the University of Central Arkansas and served as the Activity Director for the $1.7 million Title III federal grant the university received to put technology into its undergraduate classrooms.
While working at UCA full time she attended the night program at the University of Arkansas Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law. She graduated from UALR with honors and was awarded the Dean’s Certificate of Distinguished Service for public service. Admitted to practice law in Arkansas in 2008, Sherri joined Wallace & Associates in 2009.
Sherri is a member of the American Bar Association, Arkansas Bar Association, and the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association. She has been certified by the Administrative office of the Courts as a Domestic Relations Attorney Ad Litem and is in the process of earning her certification as a Dependency/Neglect Ad Litem and Dependency/Neglect Parent Counsel.
Published in the field of developmental education, she has also authored an article in the sphere of law. Her article “Brave New World: Social Networking Sites as Evidence,” was published in the Summer 2009 issue of Arkansas Trial Lawyers’ Association Docket.
A constant in her life is volunteer work. Over the years her volunteer positions have allowed her to serve as an assistant to the Director of the United Way in Cincinnati, to clean dinosaur bones for the College of Eastern Utah Prehistoric Museum, to serve as a board member to the Price, Utah Habitat for Humanity branch, and to do archival work for the Department of Arkansas Heritage. Currently she teaches English as a second language for the Literacy Action of Central Arkansas.
